Summer Camp Scholarships
Student must have been a pupil of MEA member in good standing for at least one year.
Student must have completed 3 years in ANY or ALL of the following MEA activities during the prior three years:
Auditions: - with a rating of Superior or more in the INT A Level or higher
Competitions: - with rating of Honorable Mention or higher from age 9 or above
Honors Recital: - must have been selected to perform
Student must have completed the 6th grade by the summer he/she plans to attend music camp.
Two letters of recommendation are required from the applicant’s piano teacher and one from the school music teacher or guidance counselor.
Student must submit a three-paragraph essay explaining the place music has in his/her life.
The scholarship will be award to students who will study the piano and/or another instrument.
MEA will offer up to 5 camp scholarships of $200 or more. This will be at the discretion of the Board. The money is sent directly to the camp selected by the student. Scholarships may be awarded to a student more than once.
