Scholarships

The Music Educators Association of New Jersey (MEANJ) is comprised of about 300 piano teachers across the state. Since its inception in 1927, this organization has been dedicated to the musical development of students through activities such as auditions, competitions, recitals and master classes.

MEA awards both Summer Camp and College Scholarships to deserving students of MEA teachers. Summer Camp Scholarships are $200 or more and College Scholarships are $1,000-$2000. The Board reserves the right to award more in cases of financial hardship. We hope you will encourage your students to apply.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATIONS

The Mary Jean Nelson Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to music students for:

• College or University (music majors)
• Summer Music Camp
• Lessons (in cases of financial need)

Please consider a contribution to this scholarship fund. You may make a contribution as a tribute. birthday, anniversary, graduation, get-well, In Memoriam contribution or for some other event. Donation envelopes are now available at all MEA events. Teachers are encouraged to take some home and distribute them to their students' parents. Contributions are fully tax-deductible. Please make your check payable to the MEA-MJN Scholarship Fund. (Employer matching contributions are welcome too.)
